Salaam!
Ok so I made something the other day.As we all have busy lifestyles this is a simple yet quick meal to make . No hassle. Ingredients can be purchased at your local supermarkets.
Ok so I don't really have a name for it so I'll call it tortellini pasta with onions and potatoes ( how un original lol)
Ingredients:
Vegetable/Sun flower oil
1 onion
3 potatoes or in my circumstance my potato was big so i had 1 big potato with a small one
Turmeric
Chili powder
Garlic granules
Tomato paste
So these are my ingredients, take a good look at them! |
If you live in the UK I suggest you buy your pre made tortellini from sainsbury's, not Lidl. You can find a variety of fillings in Sainsbury's which taste much better!
You chop the onions into ring slices |
You do the same with the potatoes |
You add a tablespoon of oil into your pan and fry the onions until they're slightly brown. Let the onion rings separate from each other.
You add this amount of turmeric when the onions have slightly browned |
You then add the potatoes and leave the onions to the side. You fry the potatoes on each side however you don't fully cook them. If necessary add a little more oil.
You add the pasta to the pan. As it would have been in the freezer you take it out beforehand to let the ice melt.
You then lower the temperature, put the lid on and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Add 3 spoons of tomato paste to the pasta and 2 cups of water. Add the seasonings (feel free to add seasonings of your choice ). Then mix every thing up with the wooden spoon.
Next you put the lid back on, put the cooker on a low temperature and let is cook for 15 - 20 minutes. Check up on it to make sure the potatoes/pasta don't get stuck. If it does just add a little bit of water.
Finally you plate up and serve it with salad or yoghurt! Enjoy!
